What is The Block?

The Block is a neighborhood passport created to encourage residents to discover and support local small businesses. Each edition features exclusive offers from participating businesses throughout Virginia Village, making it easy to explore the neighborhood while supporting the businesses that make it unique.

Why did I receive a passport?

The inaugural Fall/Winter edition was delivered directly to thousands of homes throughout Virginia Village as part of our neighborhood launch.

I didn't receive one. How can I get a copy?

A limited number of passports are available for purchase at ExploreTheBlock.com/get-a-passport while supplies last.

How do I use my passport?

Simply present your passport when redeeming an offer at a participating business. Each offer includes its own terms, so be sure to check the details before visiting.

Can I use offers at more than one business?

Absolutely! The Block is designed to encourage residents to explore the neighborhood and discover new local favorites. Visit as many participating businesses as you'd like.

How long are the offers valid?

The Fall/Winter 2026–27 edition is valid from September 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027, unless otherwise noted within a specific offer.

Will there be another edition?

Yes! The Block is planned as a twice-yearly publication, with a new Spring/Summer edition expected in 2027 featuring new businesses and fresh offers.

How are participating businesses selected?

The Block features a curated mix of locally owned and neighborhood-serving businesses across a variety of industries, creating a well-rounded experience for residents.

Why are there only a certain number of businesses?

The Block is intentionally curated rather than serving as a directory of every business in the neighborhood. This allows each participating business to receive meaningful exposure while keeping the passport easy and enjoyable for residents to use. New businesses will have opportunities to participate in future editions.

Do I have to make a purchase to use every offer?

Not necessarily. Every participating business creates its own offer, so requirements vary. Be sure to review the details printed with each offer.

Can I share my passport with someone else?

Yes. However, some offers may be limited to a single redemption or have other restrictions. Be sure to review the terms of each individual offer.
